As a Women in DSO founding industry partner, Vyne Dental is honored to sponsor the 2023 Women in DSO Annual Conference. The highly-acclaimed Empower and Grow Event will take place March 8-10th, 2023 at the Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
Opportunities to network, learn, engage, and more
Returning after a successful inaugural conference that welcomed 650 attendees and 47 women speakers, the 2023 Event will once again gather the brightest minds in the DSO space. Attendees will have opportunities to network while learning the industry’s latest technologies, attend Professional Coaching sessions and panels led by DSO leaders, participate in brand building workshops, headshots, and more.
Presenters will cover carefully curated content, providing attendees with insight on DSO proven DSO systems, DSO best practices, and professional development resources that advance women leadership in dentistry. Featured speakers include Rania Anderson, author, executive business coach, and an international keynote speaker, disclosing how women can access and become mentors, sponsors and allies, and why these roles are the secret ingredient of success. Amy Mendoza Leonor, VP of Marketing for Vyne Dental and Women in DSO Founding Board Member, will also present how to optimize DSO marketing strategies and budgets during recession, as well as moderate panel discussions on personal branding for professional development.
A nonprofit that empowers women in an industry they are helping build
“We started [Women in DSO] as a platform to promote and advance women to leadership positions across the dental industry,” shared Dr. Aman Kaur, Founder and President of Women in DSO. After working in the DSO space for decades, Dr. Kaur observed the underrepresentation of women in an industry they were helping build. In fact, the American Dental Association reports that women are becoming the majority in the industry as the percentage of dental school graduates who are women grew from 46% to 50.6% between 2009 and 2019.
“I have been very fortunate to be among the lucky few who got to be in C-Suite positions, got to sit in the boardrooms, but what I noticed is that was not the norm. There were many times I was one of two women in the boardroom filled with 10+ men.” Dr. Kaur knew this issue could not be addressed by simply asking “why,” and in 2020, began paving the way for Women in DSO, a nonprofit organization intended to highlight the women currently leading, managing, directing, supporting, and developing the industry’s most progressive and high-performing dental practice groups.
In an interview with Group Dentistry Now, Dr. Kaur explained, “We have seen growth in the last year. And it’s why the event [2022] felt the way it felt, why it had the attendance it had, it shows there has been a need in the industry. There was a gap.”
