Medicare Advantage Plans: Helping Your Senior Patients

A complimentary webinar with Colleen Huff
Presented by Vyne Dental, Tuesday October 25, 2022, 1pm EDT

Dental insurance plans change every year, and Medicare Advantage plans are no exception. One major change over time is in the amount of coverage offered. According to Colleen, four years ago, only 40% of Medicare Advantage plans offered comprehensive coverage. Today, 70% of them do. That means more senior patients have multiple options when it comes to dental care. A dental practice that understands the ins-and-outs of Medicare Advantage plans is well-positioned to attract senior patients.

“It’s important to understand what Medicare Advantage means,” says Colleen Huff, “There’s a lot of misinformation out there. Be aware of who you’re listening to.” Colleen Huff, a dental insurance consultant with almost 30 years of experience in the industry, has trained dental teams and taught educational seminars across the country. On Tuesday, October 25th at 1pm EDT, Colleen will lead a complimentary webinar hosted by Vyne Dental: Medicare Advantage Plans: Helping Your Senior Patients

Colleen’s webinar will give participants a thorough understanding of what Medicare Advantage plans are, how they work, and how attendees can find out what plans are available in their own areas. Knowing what’s available locally means practices can be confident in their participation and proactive in their customer service. “The plus is there’s a lot more comprehensive coverage for seniors out there – more than just cleanings and exams,” says Colleen. “But that also means there’s a lot more confusion as to how it works, especially on the part of patients.”

Colleen will take attendees through the kinds of Medicare Advantage plans that exist today – how they work and how they pay, and reveal what’s new in the marketplace. “I’ll share statistics about how the market has grown and changed,” Colleen says, “And discuss the political and economic context of potential changes this year and next.” Finally, she’ll examine what the industry might see in the future.

“Being prepared for Medicare Advantage plans is a customer service issue,” says Colleen. “Ten thousand people turn 65 every day. With the senior population swelling, every year a higher percentage of our client base will be retired, and on a fixed income.” Knowing what to offer and how to clarify coverage is a distinct advantage for a dental practice. “You can be fair and profitable and still be helping your patients – patients who might otherwise end up elsewhere, with a lesser quality of care.”
